Annual Reviews, the nonprofit publisher of review journals in the sciences and social sciences, today announced an agreement with Boston-based publishing technology company ReadCube to enhance discoverability of its content. All of Annual Reviews’ 46 high-impact journals will be indexed by ReadCube’s Discover service, enhancing its discoverability within ReadCube’s web, desktop, and mobile reading portals, plus search engines and recommendation feeds. Together, these discoverability optimizations bring Annual Reviews’ content to ReadCube’s community of more than 5.7 million researchers worldwide.
“Our mission is to ensure that Annual Reviews’ articles are discoverable and easily available to readers worldwide,” said Steven Castro, Annual Reviews’ CFO and Director of Sales and Marketing. “At the same time, we strive to offer our readers the best possible reading experience. This exciting collaboration with ReadCube supports both these pursuits.”
As part of ReadCube Discover, all Annual Reviews articles will be seamlessly enhanced within ReadCube’s reading environments to include helpful features such as hyperlinked in-line citations, annotations, clickable author names, direct access to supplemental content and figures, social sharing, and altmetrics.
“As readers of their journals ourselves, we couldn’t be more excited to work with Annual Reviews,” said Robert McGrath, CEO and cofounder of ReadCube. “Our mission is to enable researchers to easily find, read, and power their discoveries with the best research. We look forward to working together with Annual Reviews in pursuit of that goal.”
